Fredericton Hyundai and O'Leary Pontiac Buick GMC Ltd, one of Atlantic Canada's premier automotive retail organizations, has an immediate opening for a Reconditioning Manager.

Job Description:

The Reconditioning Manager is responsible for the overall and complete management of the reconditioning process for all pre-owned vehicles that are for retail sale at both dealerships.  This management position is in a fast growing organization and the right candidate for this position must have the ability to manage a department that can effectively recondition up to 200 pre-owned vehicles per month in a timely and cost effective manner.

Job Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to Dave O'Leary, the Reconditioning Manager is responsible for:

  • Ensuring that all pre-owned vehicles are reconditioned to company standards;
  • Ensuring that all pre-owned vehicles are reconditioned within an acceptable time frame;
  • Management of all expenses related to reconditioning pre-owned vehicles;
  • Management of reconditioning staff of 10-20 people including hiring, motivation, training and terminations;
  • Management of all steps within the reconditioning process, including mechanical, cosmetic, required body repairs, etc;
  • Ensuring that all vehicles have required Point-of-Sale material displayed on them, and that all are properly listed on our various websites;

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in the automotive industry is not required, but would be a huge asset;
  • Good mechanical knowledge is a must;
  • Experience in managing people is also a huge asset.

  • Very organized;
  • Very adept at taking authority and managing staff;
  • Very adept at multi-tasking;
  • Strong work ethic;
  • Honesty;
  • The ability to adapt and overcome problems and issues that arise;

The Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate for this position has been a successful Service Manager or Body Shop Manager, or potentially a manager in another industry, who would welcome a new challenge and the benefit of not having to deal directly with the public. 

This position offers an excellent compensation package for the ideal individual, which includes:

  • $40,000 - 60,000+ per year (based on experience, ability and performance)
  • Full benefits package (medical, dental, health)
